I agree, people seem to no longer want to FORM their OWN opinions, they seem happy just to be fed a daily dose of global bias from whomever tends to be serving it at the moment..Quick and easy, maybe they can add this feature to fast food drive thrus accross the globe. You will now have the ability to be fed a big mac and an opinion, for a low low price of?!!! What’s that, wanna hear about Mexico, no problem for a bit extra you can supersize and choose 3 regions.

I understand is the ”reader’s” part to do some homework and try to look at different sources... but isn’t it the journalist part informing objectively?? I mean... the same as you go to the architect because is his work (and he is getting paid) for building a pretty house that doesn’t fall down...you also go to the journalist because is his work to inform(that’s why he gets paid too)and doing it accurately and without bias...

So, it could be also the journalist not doing their work properly... don’t you think?

Many journalists do not do their work properly, I never claimed that they all did. As for your example, what I meant was the lower the expectations are for something the lower the quality is and vice versa. If people aren’t really concerned with the news for most of the time, then most likely it will not be of the best standard, and people only start complaining when there is one specific piece of news that interests them and when they don;t like what they are hearing.

True, journalists have some blame, but it really is a catch 22, if people stop tuning in to the full reports made by journalist, sooner or later the journalist will change their writing habits to attract the majority and keep their jobs
